- Perhaps "to architect" means to dream the impossible, to not engineer or build. If so, that would be swell way for architecture to offer alternatives to practicality, purpose, budget, schedule, predictablilty.

- I believe the term was coined by software marketing people, since the high-level design of software is commonly called architecture.
